Monroeville’s municipal government is renowned for their forward thinking and progressive approach to planning and community management. As a Home Rule Charter community, Monroeville is governed by a seven member elected council that works in concert with an elected mayor and appointed municipal manager to continuously enhance quality of life for the residents they represent.
The Monroeville Fire Department consists of five Volunteer Fire Companies. The men and women of MVFD come from diverse backgrounds, and all undergo rigorous training to aid the community.
The Monroeville Police Department – one of the area’s most respected and admired – is made up of over 50 officers who respond to service calls and community concerns with the highest level of professionalism and expertise available. The force includes a Special Operations Division, Detective Division, Traffic Division, Patrol Division and a K-9 Unit.
